Lavra was an atmospheric/doom/post/rock project from Finland
that was created from the progression of the band Sceptical Schizo.
Sceptical Schizo was created in 1988 as a death/thrash band and from 1989 to 1991 they released four demos.
The band was constantly searching for a more original and personal sound and in late 1991,
with the addition of a second guitarist, they recorded four tracks of atmospheric doom/death metal.
Two of these songs (Into The Suction Of Blue / Withdrawn) were released as a self-produced 7" vinyl EP in June of 1992.
The remaining two songs were offered to some labels and in late 1992 the Italian Wounded Love Records
agreed to publish them as a 7" vinyl EP entitled "The Plight", a release that saw the light of day in early 1993.
At the same time they decided to change their name to Larva.
As Larva the band moved one step forward with their style
and in 1995 they released the album "Bluenothing" on the Finnish Demonosound label.
The track "From The Suction Of Blue" was also a remade version of the Sceptical Schizo track "Into The Suction Of Blue".
After the release of the album the band for unknown reasons was disbanded.
In 2019 two of the remaining members of their old line up decided to resurrect Sceptical Schizo
and released the EP "Aggressions" with their style nowadays moving towards thrash metal territories.

"Hercules In The Haunted World" (Italian: "Ercole Al Centro Della Terra", lit. "Hercules At The Center Of The Earth")
is a 1961 Italian sword and sandal (aka peplum) film and the second official directorial effort of Mario Bava.
British bodybuilder Reg Park plays Hercules while British actor Christopher Lee appears as Hercules' nemesis Lico.
Shooting at Cinecittà, director Mario Bava used some of the same sets
from the earlier "Hercules And The Conquest Of Atlantis" which had already starred Reg Park.
The film started a short-living subgenre of films trying to combine the peplum genre with horror/gothic elements.
Films considered belonging to this subgenre include Riccardo Freda's "The Witch's Curse"
and Sergio Corbucci's and Giacomo Gentilomo's "Maciste Contro Il Vampiro".
The soundtrack of the film was composed by Armando Trovajoli (also Trovaioli, 2 September 1917 – 28 February 2013),
an Italian film composer and pianist with over 300 credits as composer and/or conductor,
many of them jazz scores for exploitation films of the Commedia all'italiana genre.
Trovajoli collaborated with Dino Risi, Vittorio De Sica, Ettore Scola on a number of projects
and was also the author of several Italian musicals.
Digitmovies in 2006 released for the first time the complete original motion picture score that is characterized
by innovative sound experiments that almost anticipate the colors of later psychedelic era in the decade.

Xantotol – Thus Spake Zaratustra (1995)

 Country: Poland

Tracklist
1. Conqueror 07:20
2. Coming The God Race 05:34
3. Aeon 01:51
4. Law 06:06
5. Fallen To Arise 05:37
6. Pride 06:04
7. Capri Sancti 04:21

Xantotol formed in July 1991 in Kutno, featuring guitarist/lead vocalist Mała
and drummer Jacek "Venom" Szczepański while they were still in high school.
The band experienced some problems in the early days trying to find a place to rehearse
but eventually played at the local Dom Kultury once a week, using cheap equipment.
Inspired by the likes of Venom, Bathory, Samael, Necromantia, Nietzschean Satanism and Aleister Crowley,
Xantotol developed a style of black metal that was at once primitive, brooding, and atmospheric.
In April 1992, they recorded their first demo "Glory For Centuries", that was released through Devilish Sounds Production.
The title-track appeared on one of the first black metal compilations in Poland "The Blackest".
During this period, Szczepański also formed the Fullmoon collective, which teamed up with leading
satanic organizations, such as Order Of Nine Angel from England, Luciferian Light Group from USA
and Order Of The Left Hand Path from New Zealand, distributing in Poland didactic satanic cult material and literature.
Subsequently, the band would severe itself from the organization, creating the notorious Temple Of Fullmoon.
Małas school mate Siwy joined the band in 1993 handling the bass.
On September 17th, Xantotol recorded at the KDK Studio, their second demo "Cult Of The Black Pentagram".
Pagan Records was the band's first choice to release it but they decided to sign with Witching Hour Productions instead.
In the meantime Szczepański started playing avant-garde music with Siwys band Bicz.
In 1995, the band entered the KDK Studio once again with Krzysztof Szejki on the production,
to record their new material entitled "Thus Spake Zarathustra" in one 12-hour session.
The intros performed by Hermh's keyboard player Marek Kutnik,
and the new songs were released through Witching Hour Productions, only on tape at the time.
The record label's owner Bartłomiej Krysiuk (Batushka) proposed US label Wild Rags Records releasing both
"Thus Spake Zarathustra" and "Cult Of The Black Pentagram" on CD, but there was eventually no agreement
due to financial problems, also the cassettes that were sent to Wild Rags Records got lost.
After a while Siwy left the band and Piotr Nastarowicz from Sauron
was invited to join as second-guitarist, though the proposal didn't come to fruition.
Instead Szczepański participated on Sauron's unreleased demo "Wilderness...".
Despite going through line-up difficulties, they managed to compose new material.
In August 1996 while the band was working for a record entitled "The Devil", which was nearly finished,
Witching Hour Productions suspended funding for the recording, without any explanation.
Xantotol planned to record again some of the new songs in spring 1997 at their own expense but they eventually broke-up.
Following the band’s disintegration, Mała joined Kayzen.

Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer is a 1986 American psychological horror crime film
directed and co-written by John McNaughton and Richard Fire,
about the random crime spree of a serial killer who seemingly operates with impunity.
It stars Michael Rooker as the nomadic killer Henry, Tom Towles as Otis,
a prison buddy with whom Henry is living, and Tracy Arnold as Becky, Otis's sister.
The characters of Henry and Otis are loosely based on convicted real life serial killers Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole.
However, as the opening statement makes clear, the film is based more on
Lucas' violent fantasies and confessions rather than the crimes for which he was convicted.
The original poster artwork was a painting by Joe Coleman,
that was considered too extreme and was replaced by the current official poster.
The soundtrack of the film was composed by Robert McNaughton, Ken Hale and Steven A. Jones
with the help of Paul Petraitis on guitar, and was originally released in 1991  by Q.D.K. Media.
The music is mostly ambient / electronic mixed with samples from the movie and also features songs
from rock & roll / hard rock bands like Kid Tater And The Cheaters, Enuff Z'nuff and Lynne And The Lizards.

Lord Kaos was an Australian black metal band that created in Sydney in 1994.
Formed by guitarist Jamie "Astennu" Stinson (ex-Covenant, ex-Carpe Tenebrum, ex-Dimmu Borgir
and vocalist Jamie Marsh, they soon dropped the original drummer in favor of a drum machine
and recorded their demo "Path To My Funeral Light" in 1995.
Later the same year, with the help of Incubus on bass and backing vocals, they recorded the album "Thorns Of Impurity".
The album was recorded for release on Sydney label Warhead Records
but also found interest from Norway's Head Not Found.
This caused a split in the group when Astennu relocated to Norway to pursue release for Lord Kaos there,
only for the remaining band members to resist the move.
The release was delayed due to this course of action and it was not issued (by Warhead Records eventually) until 1997.
By then, Astennu had completed his first Carpe Tenebrum album "Majestic Nothingness"
and had joined Dimmu Borgir as a lead guitarist.
With the departure of Astennu, Lord Kaos came to a standstill.
At the end of 1997 the band played on the Australian tour of Cradle of Filth and work began on a second album.
Several tracks were eventually recorded and one, "Black Earth",
later appeared on the 1999 compilation "Under The Southern Cross", from Sydney label Chatterbox Records.
By mid-1999 line up changes put Lord Kaos into hiatus.
In 2000 the band was active once more and played some shows in early 2001,
but later in December Lord Kaos announced their disband.

The band is known for its musical settings of German romantic poetry and mythology.
Forseti's music style is built around the acoustic guitar but also involves instruments such as accordion, cello, horn and flute. Ritter has mentioned Leonard Cohen and Johnny Cash as important musical influences.
Forseti debuted in 1999 with the 10" album "Jenzig", released by Eis Und Licht label.
"Jenzig" established Andreas Ritter's literary interests with musical settings of Ludwig Uhland's "Gesang Der Jünglinge"
and Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe's "Erlkönig".
Ritter's interests were also present in references to 18th and 19th century poets such as Eduard Mörike,
Joseph Freiherr Von Eichendorff, Matthias Claudius, Friedrich Schiller and Friedrich Hölderlin,
but also 20th-century writers such as Paul Celan and Friedrich Dürrenmatt.
Later in 2002 "Jenzig" was re-released on CD format featuring the the bonus track "Jenzig II"
that was recorded in 2000 and previously released on the "Lichttaufe - Der Folklore Liedschatz" compilation.
The band's second album "Windzeit" was released in 2002 and includes poems by Hermann Hesse and Ricarda Huch.
It also features two song with lyrics by Uwe Nolte of the band Orplid and guest performances
from members of the band Sonne Hagal and from Douglas P. of Death In June.
In 2004 Forseti released its third and final album "Erde".
"Erde" includes covers of songs by Sonne Hagal and Orplid and guest performances
from the Ukrainian opera singer Andrey Kulinich, B'eirth of the band In Gowan Ring,
Kim Larsen of Of the Wand & The Moon and Ian Read of Fire + Ice.
At the time of its release, Ritter described it as possibly the final chapter in this style of nature poetry
and said that he might move into something more historical or start to set older classics to music.
Unfortunately in May 2005, Ritter suffered a cardiac arrest which had serious consequences for his health.
To support him, a number of neofolk acts collaborated on the compilation album "Forseti Lebt" in 2006.
The proceeds from the album went to support Ritter.

in Neuchâtel, Switzerland showcasing their mix of mystic, obscure sounds with dark, hypnotic and occult vocals.
In 1996 Shivadarshana Records re-released "Evil" on a CD format with a different cover.
Trom's last offering was the demo "31" in 1996.
The band probably split up in 1996/1997, after the release of "31" and having played live shows all over Europe.

Belmez was the solo project of former Eminenz member Karsten "Zwerg" Breitung
 (ex-Opacity, ex-Sarkophag, ex-Mortal Discipline) and was formed in 1993.
After the release of two demos Karsten released two albums ("Berserker" and "Siechtum")

through Napalm Records before joining the German label Christhunt Productions
where he released in 2001 his final Belmez album entitled "Wundgrind".
The name of the band was inspired by a small Spanish town called Bélmez De La Moraleda

that became famous because of paranormal phenomena which allegedly occured in the 70s and consisted
of strange images of faces which used to appear on the ground and on the walls of a modest family house in the town.
One of those face images can be seen on the cover of Belmez's debut album "Berserker".

The Adventures Of Batman & Robin is a series of video game adaptations released between 1994 and 1995
featuring the DC Comics characters Batman and Robin based on Batman: The Animated Series.
The games were released for numerous platforms, with the Genesis, Game Gear and Sega CD versions published by Sega while the Super NES version was published by Konami.
The Genesis version (released on August 2, 1995), developed by Clockwork Tortoise,
is a run 'n' gun game where Batman and Robin must stop Mr. Freeze and features a soundtrack composed by Jesper Kyd.
Jesper Kyd Jakobson (born 3 February 1972) is a Danish composer and sound designer,
who has worked on various video game, television, and film projects.
His scores use orchestra, choir, acoustic manipulations and electronic soundscapes.
Kyd started playing the piano at an early age and later, he took several years of training in classical guitar,
note reading, choir singing and classical composition for piano but he is mostly self-taught.
He started using computers for composing on a Commodore 64 at age 14 and later an Amiga.
Kyd and Mikael Balle became members of the demogroup Silents DK and collaborated with the coders group Crionics.
They eventually made the Amiga demoscene production Hardwired.
He also created and scored the first demo, Global Trash 2, together with Mikael Balle.
Kyd then left the demoscene and started to work as a game musician.
He and others created the computer game developer Zyrinx and a game called Sub-Terrania for the Sega Genesis.
Kyd composed music for two additional Zyrinx titles, Red Zone and Scorcher
and the music for two externally developed games, Amok and The Adventures Of Batman And Robin for the Sega Genesis.
Zyrinx dissolved when their game publisher Scavenger went bankrupt.
Many former Zyrinx members returned to Denmark to start IO Interactive,
but Kyd moved to New York City and set up his own sound studio in Manhattan called "Nano Studios".
He then worked as a freelance video game musician.
He worked on BioWare's MDK2, Shiny's Messiah and IO's Hitman: Codename 47.
The soundtrack to Codename 47 was based on urban soundscapes and ethnic instrumentation.
He then recorded the soundtrack of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
with 110 musicians of the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and Hungarian Radio Choir.
He recorded the score for the action/adventure Freedom Fighters with the Hungarian Radio Choir
that was described by Film Score Monthly Magazine as "Vangelis on steroids"
He used modern electronica and symphonic and choral music in Hitman: Contracts
while the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and Hungarian Radio Choir were used once more in Hitman: Blood Money.
Jesper then provided scores for the games like Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood,
Assassin's Creed: Revelations (co-composed with Lorne Balfe), Borderlands, Borderlands 2, State Of Decay, Darksiders II, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide, State Of Decay 2, Warhammer: Vermintide 2
and Borderlands 3 (with Michael McCann, Finishing Move Inc. and Raison Varner).
In 2015, he scored the Chinese fantasy film Chronicles Of The Ghostly Tribe followed by the Indian fantasy film Tumbbad.
The music for the upcoming game Assassin's Creed Valhalla was also composed by Jesper Kyd and Sarah Schachner,
both whom have worked on past Assassin's Creed games.
Einar Selvik (aka Kvitrafn), who had written original songs for the History Channel show Vikings
will also work with Kyd and Schachner for new songs for Valhalla.
Jesper Kyd's influences include composers such as Ottorino Respighi, Igor Stravinsky, Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis,
Mike Oldfield, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith and bands such as Röyksopp, The Knife, Pink Floyd, and Underworld.
