 Red Harvest is a Norwegian industrial metal band, formed in 1989 as a Slayer tribute band.
They released the demo "Occultica" in 1989 followed by the demo "Psychotica" in 1990,

before releasing their debut album "Nomindsland" in 1992.
From 1994, with the album "There's Beauty In The Purity Of Sadness" the band moved towards

an experimental hybrid of progressive metal, gothic rock, industrial, and doom metal.
1995's "The Maztürnation" and 1996's "HyBreed" allowed the band to reach a wider audience,

resulting in them opening for American gothic metal act Type O Negative on their European tour in 1997.
In 1998, they released an EP entitled "NewRage World Music", which was re-released in 2001

and contains the original EP and four bonus tracks with minor alterations under the title of "New World Rage Music".

After the original EP release, the band perfected their progressive industrial-tinged sound

and their follow-up "Cold Dark Matter" album was released in 2000.
In 2002, "Sick Transit Gloria Mundi" was nominated for a Spellemannprisen,

the Norwegian equivalent of a Grammy Award and an alternative Grammy in the "Best Metal Album" category.
In 2004, Red Harvest released the album "Internal Punishment Programs" and in 2006 the "Harvest Bloody Harvest" DVD.
"A Greater Darkness" followed in early 2007 and in 2008, they released "The Redline Archives",

a compilation of remixes and alternate versions of previously released tracks along with a number of unreleased songs.
From 1998 and later their sound drew elements from industrial metal bands such as Godflesh and Ministry, Neurosis, Voivod,

fellow Norwegian black metal bands and certain styles of electronica, such as drum'n'bass, industrial, and gabber.
The band played a show on 24 October 2009 in Oslo, to mark the twentieth anniversary from their formation.
According to their official website, Red Harvest disbanded in May 2010, stating no specific reasons for the breakup.

They eventually reformed 5 years later in 2015.
Most of their members are also part of the project Dunkelheit.

Desire was a gothic metal band that was created in Sweden around 1991 and featured mostly Finns living in Sweden.
After several changes of composition, the group began to look like this:
Juha Vall - bass, vocals, keys, Timo Översti - drums, vocals, Arto Peteri - guitars, vocals, Jarmo Nummi - guitars

and additional female vocal by Karin Johansson.
After the release of their demo "No Light In The Dark" in 1995, they entered the Abyss Studio of Peter Tagtgren in June 1996 and recorded their debut album, “Assembled Forever", which was released the following year on Noxious Records.
In 1998 in the same studio their second album "There Where Candles Fade" was created.
Peter Tagtgren himself (Abyss Studio, Hypocrisy, Pain, The Abyss, etc.) is not only produced and mixed the album,

but also performed as a backing vocalist on the track "Insane".

Drawn was formed around 1997 and consisted of Per K (Bass), Thomaz (Drums), Atle Dørum (Guitars, Vocals,)

and ex-In The Woods... member Christer-André Cederberg (Lead Vocals, Guitars).
The band self-released their promo/MCD "Drawn" in 1997 featuring four tracks and recorded at the Jailhouse Studio.
Their style was a blend of Psychedelic/Progressive/Metal with dark and eerie overtones.
After signing a deal with Prophecy Productions in 1998 their self-titled MCD was re-released under the title "Plan Be".
In 1999 their first, and last, full length album entitled "A New World?" was released in a digipak format.

Today Is The Day is an American noise rock/experimental metal originally formed in Nashville, Tennessee.
The band's diverse sound combines influences from areas such as noise music,

avant-garde metal, grindcore, and alternative rock among other genres.

Most of the band's recordings make extensive use of dissonance and sampling,

as well as unusual production techniques and psychedelic overtones.

Lyrical themes include depression, warfare, violence, altered states of consciousness, and mental disorders.
Today Is The Day was founded by Steve Austin in the early 1990s

and reigns as one of the most unique and influential bands of the past two decades.

The band's violent and anthemic style, which blends metal, noise, psychedelia, and rock,

has won worldwide acclaim ever since the debut album.
Eleven studio albums have been released on such labels as Southern Lord, Amphetamine Reptile, Relapse

and their lineup has included such musicians as Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher, who would later go on to form Mastodon.
Today Is The Day has toured the world with Motorhead, Helmet, The Melvins, Morbid Angel, 

Converge, Napalm Death, Neurosis, Eyehategod, Unsane, and many more.
Steve Austin has also made a name as a producer, creating albums for Lamb Of God, Converge, and many other bands.

Babylon Whores was a death rock/metal band from Finland, founded in 1994 by vocalist Ike Vil and guitarist Ewo Meichem.
Their early works were heavily punk influenced, but their style grew heavier and darker with each release,

often compared to such bands as Danzig and Mana Mana.
The Whores' lyrics have always been interesting with their themes generally lying in the field of mysticism and occultism.
The group released two singles, three EPs and three albums and remained active until mid 2000's 

when they started to become less active and eventually withdrew on indefinite hiatus.
After this they have made few occasional live appearances (last one in 2007),

usually under pseudonym such as Whores Of Babylon or Babylon Horse.
Former members have since been most active in Arktau Eos, Mana Mana (Antti Litmanen), Sleep Of Monsters (Ike Vil).

Saerpe Metal Union was a demo compilation of four bands from the Sarpsborg (Særpe) area 
and was released in 1998 by Scarlet Records.
Infernal was formed from the ashes of Baalberith, in early 1997.
The band recorded three demos, of which the second one named "Holy Unholy" is featured here.
This demo was spread to friends and labels, in a very small number of CD-R copies.
Freddy Olsen from Con Anima was also a member of the band that ended splitting up in 2001.
Sunshine's Gone was a project band featuring members of Kharon and Ragnarok.
Thyme (Dag Ronny "Dæskis" Hansen) is providing the vocals here in their selftitled demo,
released in 1997, reminding the early releases of Ragnarok.
Soul Transition was formed by "Kessel" Frode Kobberstad and Stian "Culto" Johansen, both members of Perdition Hearse.
Their first demo entitled "The Calling" is included in the compilation and was originally released in 1996.
Con Anima was another project band of Stian "Culto" Johansen.
They released a demo entitled "The Angel Of Melancholy" (also called "Promo Tape 1998")
and a full length in 1999 entitled "The Book Of Riddles".

 HAM is an Icelandic rock band formed in 1988.
They are often listed as a heavy metal band (with bizarre almost black metal vocals)
 but have never categorized themselves as such.
They have gradually come to be acknowledged as an important part of Icelandic rock history.
HAM's first album was "Hold", a controversial record which received no radio airtime.
The following year they released the album "Buffalo Virgin" and held several concerts in New York.
The album "Pleasing The Pirahna" was recorded in 1990 but was never released.
Supposedly another album by the name "Pimpmobile" was also recorded but remains unreleased.
In 1991-1992, the band participated in the making of the film "Sódóma Reykjavík",

with singer and guitarist Sigurjón Kjartansson writing most of the soundtrack 

and with Óttarr Olaf Proppé (singer of the band) participating in the film.
The album "Saga Rokksins" was released in 1993.

On June 4, 1994, the band held its last concert in the now defunct night club Tunglið in downtown Reykjavík.

The live concert recording was subsequently released as the album "Lengi Lifi".

In 1995, the band's remaining studio recordings were released as the album "Dauður Hestur".
HAM remained inactive until 2001 when they performed live again in the Gaukur á Stöng bar.

This concert was later released as the live album "Skert Flog".
In 2011 they released their first new album in 16 years, "Svik, Harmur, Dauði" 

and in 2017 they released another album entitled "Söngvar Um Helvíti Mannanna".
HAM featured as members Hallur Ingólfsson (know from the band XIII) 

and Jóhann Jóhannsson (born on 19 September 1969 – died on 9 February 2018) 

known mostly for his soundtracks for Denis Villeneuve's movies (Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival), 

while the singer Óttarr Proppé is also an Icelandic politician and actor.

XIII (aka 13, Thirteen) was founded in 1993 by Hallur Ingólfsson.
The band released its first album in 1994 entitled “Salt”.

The music was dark and heavy and had an immediate place in the international alternative/rock scene.
In 1996 “Serpentyne” was released and introduced a slightly more refined sound but still quite dark and demanding.

In 1997 XIII went on a very successful tour around Germany to support the album.
After the tour the band went on hiatus and was not active until 2002 when it released it’s third album “Magnifico Nova”.

Again the album received favorable reviews and the album was very successful in the European market.
In 2009 they resumed work and has since been very active on the rock scene in Iceland.
On the 13th of September 2010 XIII’s latest release, "Black Box", was launched.
"Black Box" is a double album including a collection of XIII’s best songs of the first three albums 

together with 6 brand new songs as well as a remake of the "Wishbone" song from "Magnifico Nova".
At the same time XIII’s complete back catalog was remastered and re-released in digital format.
In addition to this the band is hard at work playing live and working on writing material for its next album.

Con Anima was the brainchild of Stian "Culto" Johansen, once very briefly vocalist for Mayhem 

and also vocalist for Perdition Hearse and Shadow Dancers among others.

Johansen was one of the original founders of the infamous "Helvete" record shop in Oslo 

and previously the editor of the fanzine Sepulchral Noise. 
The band was formed in 1997 playing a mixture of gothic/heavy/doom metal 

and released a demo entitled "The Angel Of Melancholy" in 1998.

The same year they participated in the compilation "Saerpe Metal Union" 

that featured bands from the Sarpsborg area (together with Infernal, Soul Transition and Sunshine's Gone), 

and released their full length album "The Book Of Riddles" in 1999 through Scarlet Records.

King Diamond is a Danish heavy metal band formed in 1985.
The Eye is a concept album and continues to feature a major storyline 
such as other King Diamond albums, though it is told differently.
The band's past two concept albums have been told from the perspective of the protagonists, 

this one is told from the view of a narrator.
The themes of Christian atrocity with the persecution of alleged witches and sexual abuse against nuns are present.
The story is almost entirely historically accurate, including the names of the actual characters 

(except for the storyline about the "Eye necklace", which is fiction).
It starts off with an unnamed character finding a necklace called "The Eye", 

that allows him/her to see the events the necklace was witness for in the past.
They see an accused witch named Jeanne Dibasson being tortured and burned at the stake. 

Next they see two little girls finding the necklace in the ashes at a stake,

and what they see when they look in the eye kills them. 

Finally there is the story of Madeleine Bavent, a nun working in the Louviers convent,

who finds the necklace and decides to put it on. 

After being raped by Father David, she uses the necklace to kill him by making him look into it. 

Shortly after, the new Chaplain, Father Picard, arrives and starts bringing everyone to communion. 

He winds up lacing their communion wine with some substance that lets him control their minds, 

and uses a group of nuns including Madeleine to ritually torture and kill children. In 1642 all are arrested and imprisoned.
The main parts of the stories told on this album are true, and took place during the French Inquisition, 1450-1670.

Alice in Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987 
by guitarist and songwriter Jerry Cantrell and original lead vocalist Layne Staley. 
The initial lineup was rounded out by drummer Sean Kinney, 
and bassist Mike Starr (who was replaced in 1993 by Mike Inez).
Although widely associated with grunge music, the band's sound incorporates heavy metal and acoustic elements. 
The band is known for its distinct vocal style which often included the harmonized vocals of Staley and Cantrell.
Alice in Chains rose to international fame as part of the grunge movement of the early 1990s, 
along with other Seattle bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden.
In March 1992, the band returned to the studio having new songs written primarily on the road.
The material has an overall darker feel than their previous album Facelift, 
with six of the album's thirteen songs dealing with the subject of addiction.
On September 29, 1992, Alice in Chains released its second album, Dirt (band's highest selling album to date).
Dirt spawned five top 30 singles: "Rooster", "Them Bones", "Would?", "Angry Chair" 
and "Down in a Hole", and remained on the charts for nearly two years.
Although never officially disbanding, Alice in Chains was plagued by extended inactivity from 1996 
onwards due to Staley's substance abuse, which resulted in his death in 2002. 
The band reunited in 2005 with new guitarist-vocalist William DuVall, and released their fourth studio album, 
Black Gives Way to Blue, in 2009.The album was a huge success. 
Alice in Chains released their fifth studio album, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, on May 28, 2013.
