Shinjuku Thief leader Darrin Verhagen created this album in 1994
in between the release of the albums "Witch Hammer" and "Witch Hunter".
It was commissioned by the Vis a Vis company production as a soundtrack for a contemporary dance work
examining man's relationship with technology and was first performed in Canberra, Australia in October 1994.
Whilst its is still a lush evocative world, Verhagen's trademark moody landscapes are augmented here
with ambient techno and minimal IDM grooves, creating a rich dynamic blend of drama and intrigue.
Released on his own label Dorobo.

Controlled Bleeding – The Poisoner (1997)

Country: United States

Tracklist
1. Part One 33:39
2. Part Two 25:21

Controlled Bleeding was an experimental music group based in Massapequa, New York.
The group was founded by Paul Lemos, the group's only consistent member.
Most of Controlled Bleeding's released recordings feature two main collaborators,
Chris Moriarty and vocalist Joe Papa, who both died in the late 2000s.
Since their first full-length release in 1983, Controlled Bleeding released over thirty albums
spanning several different genres, many of which were released on notable independent labels.
Their cross-genre approach combined with the out-of-print status of many of the group's releases
is reminiscent of the work of other experimental and cross-genre groups of the 80s and 90s such as Coil and Swans.
"The Poisoner" was released through Soleilmoon Recordings and it is a deeply disturbing,
richly dynamic aural nightmare that fulfills the potential that was always indicated in the group’s work.
It is consisted of two long tracks and features, beside Lemos,
San Diego experimental composer Guy Lohnes on processed guitar, as well as Stephanie Trang Dinh on vocals.
On 11th February 2020, Paul Lemos announced via the official Controlled Bleeding Facebook page that the band is no more.
