Did you hear In Solitude-Sister?Awesome mix of dark wave and heavy metal!Climax was a masterful debut too, i have a feeling that it will become a trendsetter(goth revival?)..
ReplyDeleteI saw that release in some best of lists and i did hear some tracks.They reminded a little bit of Mercyful Fate / King Diamond in some parts but i still did not manage to listen to the whole album.
DeleteYeah Climax is a great release!As for becoming a trend setter...well i would not bet a lot in this...but for sure Kvohst is a very talented artist and he gets a lot of attention in every band he participates.
i have to admit I am not familiar with most of the 41 albums you listed...but my friend, how did you forget Gehenna - Unravel ?? my favorite 2013 album is Rotting Christ - Kata Ton Daimona Eyatou
ReplyDeleteBecause Unravel was my biggest anticipated album but also the most disappointed for 2013.
DeleteWhen the first track of the album (The Decision) was released on the net, like many out there,
i was trying to calm myself saying:"Come on!This must be something like an intro song.
Its Gehenna,it will surely be a great album!"
Well i am still waiting...And i can not get it out of my head that this has something to do with the departure of Dolgar.In Unravel he did not participated in the song writing and on the vocals, he just played the bass parts and finally when the album released he left the band.Thats very weird...
Lest hope that in 2014 Mysticum will put things back in order with Planet Satan!
I hope you are over it by now...I was not so much dissapointed by Unravel, sure it's far from the gehenna sound we love, but just for the revival of Gehenna it deserves a place in the 2013 list....I have started listening to some of the albums above, Beastmilk, Bölzer, Cultes Des Ghoules and Dødsfall are good shit!....
