Originally started in 1986 as a one-man project by Fredrik Söderberg,
however, upon moving from Linköping to Stockholm, he found other members and formed the band Obduracy.
While that lineup split apart, Söderberg and those sticking with him began rehearsing and writing songs.
The band name Dawn was finally decided and was actually taken from an old 1986 Legion demo called "The Dawn".
In March 1992 they recorded during two days in Studio Arrogance their first cassette entitled "Demo 1".
Shortly after bassist Dennis Karlsson left the band and was replaced by Lars Tängmark from Mortified.
Later that same year Dawn decided to enter Dan Swanö's Gory Sound Studios to record their second demo "Apparition".
In 1993 they recorded a promo that gained them a record deal with Necropolis Records
while in 1994 their debut album "Nær Sólen Gar Niþer For Evogher" saw the light of day.
In winter 1995 the CD "Sorgh På Svarte Vingar Fløgh" was recorded and contained three brand new songs
as well as a cover of Infernäl Mäjesty's "Night Of The Living Dead".
In 1996 Karsten Larsson left Dawn for his other main band Mithotyn
and replaced by Jocke Pettersson (known from his work in among others Thy Primordial and Niden Div. 187).
Later that year the long awaited MCD "Sorgh På Svarte Vingar Fløgh" was finaly released and received great reviews.
By 1997, the band dedicated all their time rehearsing and writing new songs for their second full length album.
Once again they entered Abyss Studios and during two weeks in April finished the recording and mixing
of their second full length album entitled "Slaughtersun (Crown Of The Triarchy)".
They also decided to shoot their first video for the opening track "The Knell And The World".
Shooting sessions took place in December 1997 and the video was edited by David Palser,
known, among other things, for his work with Emperor, Immortal etc.
1998 saw the long awaited release of their second album "Slaughtersun (Crown Of The Triarchy)".
After a few line up changes 2001 marked the beginning of the hunt for a new suitable label.
A promo disc containing four new tracks was sent to a few labels like Nuclear Blast, Candlelight and Earache
but neither of these managed to meet the demands of the band.
The new album was supposed to be recorded in the band’s own studio sometime during spring 2003
but the lack of a proper label canceled their plans.

Two Witches is a gothic rock band from Finland, formed in 1987.
As with several other late 1980s bands,
Two Witches started basing the main part of their appearances and lyrics on vampiric imagery.
The group was founded by Jyrki Witch and Anne Nurmi as Noidat ("Witches" in Finnish).
In 1988, Jyrki Witch began to sing in English and they changed their name to Two Witches.
The first gig was in March in their hometown Tampere.
The band's first release, 7" single "Pimeyden Jousi" came out in October from their own label called Darklands Records.
In 1989, two more members, Nauku and Toby, joined the band.
In 1992 their debut CD "Agony Of The Undead Vampire Part II" came out via Darklands,
and the band was also included in two compilation releases.
In 1993, Two Witches toured together with Lacrimosa, where Anne met the German-born musician Tilo Wolff.
Tilo was so fascinated by Anne's voice that he invited her to join his project.
Anne accepted and became a member of Lacrimosa in 1993.
